Miwon: Pale Glitter, Free DJ Mix

I first heard of Miwon over iTunes Radio on Limbik Frequencies. The song was 'Tempo Woman' off of Pale glitter and it stuck out enough for me to go ahead track down his Myspace and Virb pages. Then I found his website and found a great link to a site called kohviradio.com. They have a couple mixes by Miwon and a bunch of other artists that I am not too familar with. Anyway this song 'Tempo Woman' reminds me of a mash between boards of canada, mouse on mars, Ulrich Schnauss and a little New order at the end. Some others as well but we don't need to get to detailed. If you haven't heard of him before go check out his website and kohviradio.com to get exposed. Here is a little info from http://miwon.de/

"Miwon plays electronic music, creating a sphere in which heart and beat are best friends. First stations were the labels hal9000 and Kohvirecords from Estonia. Since 2004 I release on CCO. In case you haven’t listened to my tiny worldwide underground hit Brother Mole, featured on Pale Glitter, you should catch up on it now - this song contains some important message to mankind."

Boomchik = LinnDrum II [Dave Smith Instruments]

Some more news on the now Linndrum II project right from Dave Smith's site:

LinnDrum II
Many of you have been anxiously awaiting news of BoomChik, the collaboration between Dave and Roger Linn announced at Winter NAMM 2007. As information becomes available, we'll be posting it to this page. The most obvious development over the last year is that it is no longer called BoomChik: it is now the LinnDrum II. There will be two models: the all-digital LinnDrum II and the LinnDrum II Analog, which adds a 4-voice analog synth and 27 dual-function voicing knobs. The LinnDrum II will be available from Roger Linn Design and the LinnDrum II Analog will be available from Dave Smith Instruments.
The operating system emphasizes real-time performance with the ability to drop in and out of record on different beats, play multiple beats simultaneously, switch in and out of song mode, and much more, all without stopping play. Both MPC-style real time and XOX-style step recording are provided, and the 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads—backlit for visual sequence animation—can be assigned to sounds, tunings, beats, pad mutes, or sequence steps. Dedicated buttons exist for touch sensitivity, sound restart, real-time erase and pressure-sensitive note repeat or rolls. 16 megabytes of internal flash memory exist for sound storage, but because sound data is read directly from flash, expanding sound memory is accomplished merely by plugging a compact flash card into the rear panel slot. Inputs and outputs include four audio outs, two sampling/audio processing/drum trigger inputs, phones, USB, MIDI in/out, two expression pedal/foot switch inputs, and four additional direct voice outputs for the Analog model.
Sample playback is enhanced with 8-level velocity switching, dynamic filters and resonators, distortion and lo-fi algorithms, two complex modulation matrices and the ability to use sequence events as modulation sources. The Analog model enables significantly richer voice timbres with its four Curtis chip-based analog voices, analog feedback resonator paths, and dedicated voicing knobs. Performance enhancements include two programmable sliders and dedicated on/off buttons for filter, resonator, amp sim/compressor, EQ, delay and reverb effects.
We hope to be shipping by mid-2008.

Mike Huckabee = Douche Bag

It amazes me that people would actaully think about voting for a guy like this. He pretty much says vote for me or DIE. Why so much talk about death in the world. Movies, Music, News, Books, its getting kind of sickening. Vote or Die bitch. So ridiculous. People in this country and around the world need to start thinking of positive things. Peace and Love. Not War and Riches.
Let's start filling ourselves with positive thoughts instead of murder shows and meaningless bs. Everyone needs to wake up and realize how f**king evil the media is if you can't see thru it....

Led Zeppelin Reunion Official???????

This got me very excited and hopeful for 2008. The article comes Via blabbermouth. Please let this be true

"MonstersAndCritics.com reports that LED ZEPPELIN will headline next year's Glastonbury Festival.

The legendary rock group — who played a sensational comeback concert at London's O2 arena earlier this month — will take to the stage for the world-famous musical extravaganza, in Somerset, England, before embarking on an 18-month world tour.

A source close to the band — Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham, who has replaced his late father John Bonham — said: "It will kick off at next year's Glastonbury after Robert has finished touring with American country star Alison Krauss."

Read more at MonstersAndCritics.com."

Devi Ever USA: Joystick Controlled Dual Fuzz Effect

Just ran into this one over at the great site Analogeuhaven. I believe I have seen this once before but today it really caught my attention. Here are the details:

Introducing the craziest new pedal from Devi Ever USA, the Synth Mangler! It has the following features:

- Two Soda Meiser-style fuzz's in one box.
- Each Soda Mesier section has its own volume control, hiss and chaos modes.
- The Joystick controls the intensity of both fuzzes.

Go over to Analoguehaven and check out the videos. This thing looks like it tears sounds up.

Ron Paul owns Fox News [Faux News]

ah who doesn't think fox news is ridiculous bs? Unfortunately a lot of people i guess, Or is that just what the media is telling us. All I know is that everyone news caster on fox is rude, disrespectful, arrogant and brainwashed. I watch it occasionally just to get a good laugh at the saturated douchieness.....Anyway out of all the election bs out there Ron Paul is one of the few guys who makes sense to me and many other americans. They are trying to take him down and trap him but it is just not working. If you look at Ron Paul's body actions, facial movements and eyes it really seems like he is telling the truth. Anyway watch this video that was on digg this morning. Ron Paul is the MAN.

Christmas Music Vid: Scott Weiland

As a long time STP fan I was lucky enough to catch this unexpected performance when it happened. Here we have Scott Weiland singing 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' on the tonight show. I know there are haters out there but Scott is one of the best frontman out there. It always makes me wonder about all the music we've missed out on because of his unfortunate addiction. Still no word on the arrest from a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully he gets out of it and decides he wants to get back with the Deleo brothers. Army of Anyone is good but Richard Patrick just doesn't have the range and creativity that Scott does. Anyway check out the pimp performance. He pulls it of well even though I think he almost forgets two words or so....

I figured I might as well throw Tori Amos and her beautiful voice in there as well...

Busy P: Best of 2007

Busy P has been all over the world this year. With the buzz around Daft Punk and Justice he has been at parties and events all over the globe. I caught him at Coachella and at Winter Music Conference and every event he was at was sick. XLR8R has his bests of 2007. Here are a couple examples....

"Best ArtistBoys Noize. We play probably 15 of his tracks every night. That German guy could have been an Ed Banger artist. Respect!

Best AlbumMidnight Juggernauts’ Dystopia. Those Australians killed it with the perfect synth-rock album. Imagine Alan Braxe and David Bowie smoking crack in Paris. I could have said, Klaxons, White Stripes, Clipse, Shy Child, and of course, Kanye West. Everybody keeps saying the music business is dead. I don't think so. 2007 was a great year [for] all styles........"

Dear Motherf**kers,

I regret to announce the end to another era in clubland. Motherfucker, is no more. For the last year or so, relations between the 4 partners has been strained and finally it reached it's inevitable breaking point. We did not anticipate our exit to be so abrupt but alas, life throws curve balls at all of us when least expected. I don't know if there will ever be another MF. Perhaps... will all the stars be that aligned again... doubtful.

Black Moth Super Rainbow:

Really liking these guys lately. So much so that I am ordering all three of their cds of their website. I've never been a fan of predictable music or just rehashing the same stuff. I am always looking for something new even it if it is not completely new. I first came across these guys because of their collab with The Octopus Project. One of my other favorite bands of this year. That project is called "The House of Apples & Eyeballs". Honestly I have only heard a few songs of BMSR by themselve via youtube and some blogs. I really get good vibes from them and am very curious to pick up their albums.

The band is from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and describes themselves as follows:
""Deep in the woods of western Pennsylvania vocoders hum amongst the flowers and synths bubble under the leaf-strewn ground while flutes whistle in the wind and beats bounce to the soft drizzle of a warm acid rain. As the sun peeks out from between the clouds, the organic aural concoction of Black Moth Super Rainbow starts to glisten above the trees.""
