Upcoming U.S. Tour Dates

8/17 Baltimore, MD - Bourbon Street
8/18 Philadelphia, PA - Blockley
8/19 Washington, DC - 9:30 Club
8/20 New York, NY - Terminal 5

Digitalism’s new album I Love You, Dude has proven itself as one of this summer’s biggest albums, and now the band is sharing a new video for “Circles,” which Consequence of Sound premiered earlier today. The video also serves as a teaser for the band’s live show, which has been tearing up dancefloors coast to coast on the HARD Tour, which continues through this weekend when it wraps on August 20th at NYC’s Terminal 5.

Wow DR. DRE is RIPPED

Damn he got ripped. This song is tight hopefully his next album will be as strong as he his. The Chronic 2001 is still a masterpiece and gets played to this day. The imagery in this video is awesome, especially love all the flashbacks. Eminem kills it with the verse on this track, I love it when he is on his game. The ridiculous HP ad placement is disgusting but hey take their money. Still waiting on the DETOX........

The Glitch Mob ‘We Can Make The World Stop

“We Can Make The World Stop” is the title track from The Glitch Mob's new EP, which just hit online retailers and independent record stores across the world on July 12 (yes, they press vinyl and support independent retailers). The band is nearly finished with their 35 city summer tour which has seen them selling out large venues from San Francisco's Regency Theatre to NYC's Terminal 5. Highlights include triumphant sets at Red Rocks, the US's largest festival EDC, a return to Lollapalooza and Sasquatch to name a few. Their last show of August sees them headlining in their hometown at L.A.'s Club Nokia this Friday August 19th. The trio will continue on a handful of US dates including The Langerado Festival before crossing over-seas to conquer Europe this October and November.

New Gear from Bleep Labs: Neon Indian

I have loved Bleep Labs stuff for awhile now. The Original Thingamagoop was an amazingly fun toy. Very expressive and always fun to play with. Now Dr Bleep has teamed up with NEon Indian to make this new product. Here are some details.

This limited edition mini analog synthesizer is based on the Pico Paso with a few modifications designed by Dr. Bleep and Alan Palomo of Neon Indian. The biggest addition are swappable controls which allow you to easily attach the included potentiometers or photocells (or a number of other devices we’ll post about later) in any configuration to the three oscillators to create all kinds of triangle wave chaos.

- Two triangle wave oscillators which can be activated independently or together, modulating each other.
- Square LFO which affects the amplitude of both triangle oscillators.
- 1/4″ out.
- Screw terminals allow any resistive device to control the pitch of the three oscillators.

I also am a fan of neon indian and am excited to hear his new record. The new single sounds very promising...

Coachella Line Up 2011

Coachella Line up was released yesterday. Not a fan of most of it even though there are some really good acts. Just wondering where all the bands I have been listening to for the last year are. Really think Kings of Leon suck and should not be headlining a festival with such a great history. Also not a fan of Kanye West and really don't think he fits the vibe of that festival. Not to mention he is a douche bag. Don't really understand why people have such a hard on for his last album. It hurt my ears.

Anyway good to see the Black Keys and The Chemical Brothers on opening night but you know they will be playing at the same time which would really drive me crazy. There are a bunch of bands I could see but since I live in NY I will probably wait until these acts come around. I am sure the Strokes and Death From Above 1979 will play NY. Anyway with ever new coachella line up I always go thru and check out all the artists I don't know. It is a good way to find some new music if you have the patience.......

---[ VITALIC Tonight @ Webster ]---

Vitalic is one of those guys that doesn't come to New York often... which is a shame because he is one of the best. This unassuming French man is responsible for some of the most amazing electro you've ever heard: 'La Rock 01', 'Poney pt.1" and "My Friend Dario"are all classics... and he recently dropped an album with more amazing singles that made our ears pop... like this one, this one and this one). We've only seen him perform once before, and he was incredible. This is going to be a great night - don't miss it.

---[ New Touch Guitar ]---

As I am getting increasingly excited over the idea of the ipad and Ableton live, I decided to do some searching on touch interfaces. In the upcoming years we are going to see more and more uses for touch technology. At first I was skeptical about the ipad, since having an iphone and a macbook book pro leave really no need for such a device. However if you think about how awesome it will be to use with Ableton live..............it is going to be really tempting. check out this new touch guitar I ran across

"The intersection of the classical instrument known as a guitar and the modernist urge to modify everything has resulted in plenty of nutty, zany, and just plain questionable products in its time. It's quite a pleasure, therefore, to point you in the direction of a so-called Digital Guitar that keeps the axe looking refreshingly familiar, while turning it into something that poses a legitimate threat of actually being useful. Essentially a MIDI controller, the Misa guitar has 24 frets and a large multifunctional touchscreen, which you can use to interface with the appropriate software on your pc. We've got a video demonstration after the break, and you can hit up the source link for more info including details on how you might be able to buy one for yourself."

+++ HOLY F@CK @ Webster Hall +++

I haven't really dug any of the GBH events lately but this is on that might get me out. I really can't get excited to see a DJ anymore unless they are really amazing (using live gear, pushing the limits, sampling..etc). Most of it to me is just Scenester BS and I would much rather be my own DJ at home with my gigantic Itunes Library. That way I get to hear what I want and not what they think is cool. Also the drinks are a hell of lot cheaper and stronger. Anyway I just have been really disappointed with the so called NY electronic music scene. Which pretty much equals which DJ has the most friends and plays what's trendy. Anyway that is why I haven't really been out lately cause it is mostly all lame to me. I need a "live act" to get me excited and Holy F#ck should do just that..

FROM GBH.TV:

$1 DRINKS & $1 ADMISSION B4 MIDNIGHT

Friday October 2 at Webster Hall

Canadian indie electro funk rockers, HOLY F@CK are playing live this Friday at Webster Hall. These guys make some of the best music we've ever heard and are EXCELLENT live. Don't believe us? Watch THIS.

Also playing are the amazing AutoErotique (on the Dim Mak label)... these guys will be playing a DJ set...

---[ NEW LEAKAGE: AIR - LOVE 2 ]---

air love 2
New Air record leaked yesterday. I have been listening to it for the last 24hrs and must say its pretty good. Better then the last one which I could never get into for some reason. It is a good mix of tracks and is definitely worth checking out. more details.....

"It seems strange for such seasoned veterans of the studio, but Love 2, Air's fifth album, is the first that they produced entirely on their own. That could be because it's the first album that they recorded in their own state-of-the-art Atlas Studio in Paris. They also supply all of the vocal parts, and included longtime collaborator Joey Waronker on drum duty. Judging by the first single, "Do the Joy," Love 2 is based on the same meticulous arrangements and air-light (sorry) synths that the duo is known for."

Air - Love 2

01 Do the Joy
02 Love
03 So Light Is Her Footfall
04 Be a Bee
05 Missing the Light of the Day
06 Tropical Disease
07 Heaven's Light
08 Night Hunter
09 Sing Sang Sung
10 Eat My Beat
11 You Can Tell It to Everybody
12 African Velvet

DATA + SINDEN + VIKING = Webster Hall Tonight

data sinden viking girls and boys
DatA - who has been regaling us with some of the best in dream-wavey electro available... check out his myspace here and try to look us in the eyes and tell us that you aren't head over heels in love with "One In A Million".

Sinden is probably the last man alive to own a beeper, but don't let that stop you from hitting him on it. When he isn't recording tracks with Kid Sister, he's busy remixing people like A-Trak, Crystal Castles and Chairlift....

Viking is as buzzy as a swarm of bees right now... he's releasing remixes for Cazals and The Sounds this fall, and is currently working on remixes for The Asteroids Galaxy Tour and Shwayze. Right now is probably the right time to tell you that he has just dropped a remix of Cut Copy's 'Hearts On Fire'... which you can grab for free here. He'll be dining out on the success of his Kid Cudi remix for years. If you haven't heard it, do yourself a favor and click this.
