Explosions in the Sky:

Probably my favorite intsrumental band out there. They are absolutely amazing on their alblums and on a live stage. I saw them at Coachella and it was great minus the intense sun rays. I am waiting for them to go on tour on the east coast. Most of their shows have been on the west coast since they are from Texas. They recently got a pretty sweet gig opening for Billy and Friends (The Smashing Pumpkins). I am a long time Pumpkins fan but would much rather see these guys on their own then pay 70 dollars a ticket to see them with the Pumpkins. Anyway Explosions in the sky are brilliant at creating moods and speaking to a listener without words. There musis is pure beauty. check em out

Synth of the Week: Roland Jupiter 8

One of the sweetest synths of all time. It is really hard and expensive to get your hands on one of these babies. Pure analog goodness that first came out in 1981. Sixteen Oscillators and an unreal sound that has been harnessed by artists like David Bowie and the Chemical Brothers.

For more information follow this link

For around 2,850 you can get in on the bidding HERE

Busy P Tour blog. After Party Video coming soon...............................................

For those of you who don't think they are doing anything up there but spinning CD's, you are way wrong. If you are a gear head check out their setup. It is sweet. You can find it at the erol alkan forum

Also I will upload some video from the studio B after party tomorrow. Got some good clips.......

Daft Punk Keyspan Park: VIDEO

Ok so here is most of the video I took from the show. It looked a lot better before it was uploaded onto youtube. Maybe its the compression or something. Anyway should be decent enough til they put out a video.......

Studio B Daft Punk After Party

The show was insanity and so was the after party. After taking the Ghost train back to the point (greenpoint) there was more dancing madness already taking place. Sebastian, Kavinsky, Guys from the rapture and Ktisune and ofcourse Busy P all worked the booth. Busy P probably played the best set I have seen him play. It was harder and more energetic than his coachella set and he really had the crowd roaring. I hadn't seen this much energy and dancing at studio B in awhile. It was amazing.

There were a couple special guests walking around that not too many people noticed. One being the guy from Spankrock and the oh yeah the two guys from Daft Punk made an appearances. I don't think anyone really noticed them as people are so use to seeing them with their helmets on. However they were there for sure. I got some pictures of the two but I plan on keeping them away from the internet. The guys have done so well with their image and keeping their pictures out of the public that I got to respect that and keep it that way.

Anyway Sebastian tore it up too and Gildas from Kitusne was sick as well. Busy P though really impressed me as he played more hard heavy music then I have seen him play in the past. videos coming soon. Right now here is some pics....

DAFT PUNK Coney Island (Keyspan Park)

What an amazing insane show! So many good vibes and good times. The music, the lights, messages and vibes spread throughout the crowd. Daft Punk is simply amazing. They have taken things to a higher level then most acts. Is it the best show ever?? who really cares. how can one compare such meaningless things. It is what it is and it was amazing, awesome, insane and out of control. The bass destroyed my soul and the tweaking synths ate my brain. Good vibes all around except for a couple smelly people who think its cool to show up late and move their way to the front like they own the place. Oh and smell like complete trash while doing it. Dirty bastards. (i.e. Big douche bag in the white shirt with some smelly girl and a extra douchey lookin stick figure).......

Anyway hope everyone got to experience this. Kavinsky and Sebastian tore it up as well. and it barely rained at all. what a sweet nite.....

Chemical Brothers: Mccarren Pool (Brooklyn)

Hmmmmm. I am not sure if the chemical brothers have ever played BK. I have seen them everytime they have played in NY since I guess woodstock 99. It is one of the best shows you can see. The fact that I will be able to see them on back to back nights is even better. I can't wait to see the brothers work it out and do it again in NYC.

Rapture (Sebastian remix)

The Daft Punk show is less then three days away. Obviously I am dying to see them again after their KILLER Coachella set. I am also excited to Sebastian tear it up. I figured since the Rapture would be there as well why not throw up a little remix that has been circulating the net..........

Get Myself Into It (Sebastian remix)

The Rapture live at Studio B:

Sebastian Live:

Have you seen this?

I have never seen this before anywhere. I came across it over at the Matrix Synth blog. It is currently on ebay with 1 day left. Check it out here

"basic 2 oscillator synthesizer with an ADSR and white noise. This truly is a two-voice synthesizer. You can get all types of sounds with this drum synthesizer. You can control the pitch, attack, volume, decay, release, etc. It can make do very low frequencies and tones as well as the "disco sound" that it is known for. I have made numerous ring modulation type of sounds as well. It has a drum mount so you can immediately screw it on to a stand and get playing either on your set or ndividually. It is powered by two 9 volt batteries internally."

Moog Sonic 6

I love the Synths you can just close up and take to work with you. I love the concept. Imagine if everyone going to work had one of these instead of a briefcase. I think the world would be a much more interesting place. Here is a close-up.

For a ton of information on this Synth go over to one of my favorite blogs:

Pedal Power: Audible Disease Convulsion

"The Audible Disease Convulsion CN-2 is a vicious high-gain distortion unit that pushes your sound into the realm of complete insanity"

I want this pedal.

I dont fully understand what a decimator is but it sounds like it spilts, destroys and overloads a sound. I have used it on the Korg EMX and always like the results. This pedal though sounds like it takes it to the next level.

"By tweaking this knob, your sound will start to cough, spit and sputter on the verge of auditory death"

You can buy the pedal and check out more details here.....................
