Saul Williams first single leaks:

Worked on by Trent Reznor and Alan Moulder this looks to be an interesting project. Not sure if I digg the song or not but I like the creativity and sound. Vocals may be a little weird but the music is interesting and creative.

New Mixes from BroOklyN: (streetlab)

streetlab from Brooklyn just sent me a couple mixes of the Chemical Brothers and Casssius. The Salmon Dance remix is very well done. It starts of very minimal but works up and gets you moving. The Cassius remix is from their new album "15 Again" which was just recently released in the U.S. It has been out overseas for awhile. Cassius is currently picking artists to go on a remix complitation record. Go over to The Cassius Workshop

News from Trent:

"Hello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make the following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate.

Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008.

*I am very excited by this statement. Hopefully everything keeps moving this way. Less Money to the rich corporate suits and more money to the artists. With the accessibility of music labels are now finding themselves in a lot of trouble. Now is the time to support the artists. Hopefully you all went to the Radiohead site and purchased the album for whatever you wanted to pay. If you didn't go here to the In Rainbows site.

Thanks to the NIN HOTLINE for the above statement from Trent

Brooklyn Bands: MiXeL PiXeL

Mixel Pixel is a Brooklyn based band that will be releasing a new Alblum in February. They are signed to Kanine records who has artists such as Grizzly Bear and Professor Murder. Mixel Pixels style is along the lines of electro pop rock although I think listening is better then hearing someone classify something. So go check them out! They are also playing the upcoming CMJ festival in about two weeks. You can check all CMJ dates right below this post.

Here is a link to their myspace where you can download many of their tracks....
